Our journey began in 2008, and since then, we've spent up to six months each year exploring new destinations and reconnecting with our old favorites. This allows us to distinguish the truly remarkable from the merely ordinary.
We go beyond the superficial allure of Instagram and glossy magazines, guiding you towards the most jaw-dropping destinations.
Many of our clients have been loyal to us for over 10 years, entrusting us to plan every aspect of their journeys. Our reputation is built on our expertise, and that's why we exclusively focus on the countries we know and love, where we've cultivated strong relationships with exceptional partners.
FOUNDER – Eric Monkaba
Eric's entry into the travel industry was an unexpected twist that all began with a taxi ride up Morocco's High Atlas Mountains back in 2004. During this memorable journey, he crossed paths with a trio of travelers, all of whom were getting paid to lead tours around the world. That encounter was a game-changer for Eric.
He talked his way into a job at their company, left behind his advertising job in Manhattan, and his first assignment took him to Cairo. Eric soon realized that he lacked any true qualifications to guide tourists through Egypt and Jordan. So, he made another unanticipated move and quit the gig. He left for Yemen to study Arabic, then to Damascus and ultimately back to Cairo, where he laid the foundation for his first venture.
The company's core focus was on adventure, but with a unique twist - travelers didn't need to worry about the nitty-gritty logistics because Eric had them covered. All was going well until revolutions swept through the region, and it became evident that it would take years to rebuild the business. Eric made a quick pivot and started personally taking his valued clients to less volatile parts of the world, maintaining the same high level of service that defined the original brand. It was during this time that TripScaper truly came to life.
Today, Eric calls Los Angeles his home, but don't expect to find him there often. He's a perpetual globetrotter, and you can keep up with his adventures by following @tripscaper.
